Apple has introduced a major charging upgrade with its new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, allowing the smartphones to reach up to 50 percent battery in around 15 minutes with compatible wired charging.
According to Apple, the new Pro models deliver significantly faster charging than their predecessors. To achieve the advertised 50 percent charge in about 15 minutes, users need the USB-C cable included with the phone and a compatible 60W-capable power adapter supporting Adjustable Voltage Supply and USB Power Delivery 3.2.
Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro models can also reach 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes when using wireless charging, providing another option for users who prefer cable-free charging.
The faster charging comes alongside improvements in battery life. The iPhone 18 Pro offers up to 36 hours of video playback, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max can provide up to 45 hours, according to Apple.
Apple has also highlighted how quickly the Pro Max can gain useful battery power. Just five minutes of wired charging can provide around seven hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro Max under Apple’s testing conditions.
Independent testing has also examined Apple’s charging claim. One test found the iPhone 18 Pro Max reached 43 percent after 15 minutes, showing that actual results can vary depending on conditions.
The charging improvement makes the new iPhone 18 Pro lineup more convenient for users who need a quick battery boost before travelling, working or heading out. However, achieving the fastest charging speed requires a compatible high-power adapter.
