Elon Musk has once again become the world’s first and only trillionaire after his wealth jumped by around $65 billion in a single day, taking his estimated fortune to about $1.04 trillion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The sharp increase was mainly driven by rising values of Musk’s holdings in SpaceX and Tesla. SpaceX shares have gained strongly since the beginning of October, while Tesla also recorded significant growth. Bloomberg reported that Musk’s stakes in the two companies account for more than 98% of his net worth.
Musk first made history as the world’s first trillionaire in June 2026, following SpaceX’s record-breaking initial public offering. However, his wealth later fell below the trillion-dollar mark as SpaceX shares declined.
The latest recovery comes as investor confidence in both companies has improved. SpaceX shares have rebounded strongly from their August low, while Tesla recently reported better-than-expected third-quarter sales.
Forbes also confirmed that Musk had returned to trillionaire status, although its real-time estimate showed a different one-day increase of about $30.6 billion, highlighting how billionaire wealth estimates can vary depending on the index and market timing.
Musk remains far ahead of other billionaires. The latest Forbes figures place Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in second place, with a fortune of roughly $371 billion.
The latest surge shows how quickly Musk’s wealth can change with movements in the stock prices of companies connected to his business empire.
