Nayatel CEO Wahaj Siraj has suggested that the government could save as much as Rs. 900 billion every year by selling state-owned companies that are running at a loss.
He explained that privatizing these companies would not only help the government reduce its financial burden but also lead to better efficiency and improved performance. According to Siraj, many of these state-owned enterprises have been incurring losses for years, using up valuable government resources that could be put to better use in other important areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
His statement comes at a time when there is an ongoing debate about reforming state-owned enterprises in Pakistan. Many experts believe that privatization could be a key step toward strengthening the country’s economy and ensuring that public funds are spent more wisely.
