Saudi Arabia has begun building a massive $50 billion megastructure in Riyadh, called ‘The Mukaab,’ which aims to become the largest building in the world. This impressive cubical structure will stand 1,300 feet tall and span 1,200 feet wide, with enough space to fit 20 Empire State Buildings inside, according to The Sun.
The Mukaab is designed as a futuristic city contained within a single building. It will provide 2 million square meters of floor space, including residential units, hotels, offices, and various retail, dining, and leisure facilities.
