Pakistan Ranks 16th Globally in IT Outsourcing Talent Index

by Mahnoor Arif

Pakistan has ranked 16th out of 193 countries in the latest Global Outsourcing Talent Index, highlighting the steady growth of its IT sector. The ranking reflects the country’s improving position in providing skilled tech workers for international clients.

According to IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Pakistan’s technology sector is expanding at around 20 percent each year. She said this growth rate is higher than many larger economies, showing strong demand for Pakistani developers, engineers, and digital professionals.

The outsourcing industry in Pakistan has been growing due to a large pool of young and skilled workers. Many professionals are working in software development, customer support, and digital services for companies based in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Lower costs and improving skills make Pakistan an attractive option for outsourcing.

The government is also taking steps to support this growth. Efforts include expanding fibre internet networks, offering training in artificial intelligence, and building partnerships with global tech firms. These measures aim to improve both the quality and scale of services offered by local companies.

Officials believe Pakistan could move up to the 11th position in the coming years if these improvements continue. Experts say consistent policy support and better infrastructure will be key to sustaining long-term growth in the outsourcing sector.
