The Punjab Forest Department has seized 700 cubic feet of timber that was allegedly smuggled from Mansehra during a major operation against illegal timber transportation.
According to officials, the timber was being transported without the required legal documents.
Following the seizure, authorities imposed a fine of more than Rs5.5 million on those responsible and initiated legal action under the relevant forest laws.
The department said the operation is part of its ongoing efforts to stop illegal logging, protect forest resources, and crack down on timber smuggling networks.
Officials also appealed to the public to cooperate by reporting any suspicious activities related to the illegal timber trade.
The Punjab Forest Department has reaffirmed its commitment to taking strict action against those involved in environmental crimes and ensuring the country’s forests are protected for future generations.
