Great Wall Motor (GWM) has introduced its new ORA 5 electric SUV in Pakistan, adding another model to the country’s rapidly expanding electric-vehicle market. The vehicle has been announced at a price of Rs8.599 million, positioning it in the competitive premium compact-SUV segment.
The ORA 5 represents a significant shift from the brand’s earlier hatchback-focused electric vehicles, offering buyers a more spacious compact SUV design while retaining ORA’s distinctive styling. GWM’s ORA 5 has already begun expanding into international markets in 2026.
The electric SUV is powered by a 150kW electric motor, producing around 201 horsepower. Depending on the market specification, the vehicle is equipped with a 58.3kWh battery, while its claimed driving range can reach approximately 435 kilometres under the relevant testing cycle.
Charging capability is another major feature. International specifications indicate that the ORA 5 can support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to be replenished significantly faster than through conventional AC charging.
Inside the cabin, the model focuses heavily on technology and connectivity. International versions feature a 14.6-inch infotainment display alongside a digital driver screen, while GWM’s Coffee OS platform provides connected functions and smartphone integration. Advanced driver-assistance technologies are also offered, including features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot monitoring.
The launch gives Pakistani consumers another option as demand for electric and new-energy vehicles continues to grow. GWM already has a presence in Pakistan through its partnership with Sazgar Engineering, which previously introduced the ORA 03 EV to the local market.
With its SUV body style, technology package and competitive positioning, the ORA 5 EV is expected to strengthen GWM’s presence in Pakistan’s growing EV segment.
