Pakistan’s squash star Sana Bahadur has achieved a major milestone in her international career by winning her first Professional Squash Association (PSA) title in Australia.
Sana claimed the PSA Challenger 3K Bendigo Open 2026, held at the Bendigo Squash Centre in Melbourne from August 13 to 16. She produced an impressive run throughout the tournament before defeating Australia’s Rachael Grinham 3–1 in the final to lift the trophy.
The victory is particularly significant because Grinham is a highly experienced Australian player and former world No. 1. Sana, who was ranked around No. 203 at the time, produced a strong performance to overcome her more experienced opponent.
Sana’s achievement is also an inspiring moment for Pakistani sport. She has previously competed successfully at national level and has steadily progressed onto the international PSA circuit. Her journey has been marked by determination, discipline and consistent improvement.
The Pakistan Squash Federation congratulated Sana on her victory, calling it another proud moment for Pakistan squash. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also congratulated the young player, saying her achievement had made the country proud.
The Bendigo Open triumph gives Sana valuable international experience and could provide further momentum as she continues her professional career. Her breakthrough victory has once again put Pakistani squash in the spotlight and demonstrated the talent emerging from the country.
For Pakistan, Sana Bahadur’s success is more than a tournament victory. It represents determination, perseverance and the potential of Pakistani athletes to compete successfully on the international stage.
