Apple could potentially establish an office in Pakistan following the recent opening of Google’s first local office, according to remarks by US Consul General in Lahore Stetson Sanders.
Speaking at an event in Lahore, Sanders expressed hope that Apple would also establish a headquarters or office in Pakistan, pointing to the country’s growing technology use and digital potential.
However, Apple has not officially announced plans to open an office in Pakistan. The comments represent a hope expressed by the US diplomat rather than a confirmed investment decision by Apple.
The development comes shortly after Google officially inaugurated its Pakistan office in Islamabad on August 18, 2026. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Google Vice President Wilson White attended the ceremony, which marked a major expansion of Google’s presence in the country.
Google has also signed an agreement with Pakistan covering digital skills, artificial intelligence, IT exports and innovation, including plans for an AI Centre of Excellence in Islamabad.
If Apple eventually establishes a formal presence in Pakistan, it could create new opportunities for local developers, businesses and technology professionals. For now, however, any reports suggesting that Apple has already decided to open an office should be treated cautiously until the company makes an official announcement.
