Pakistan has scored a notable automotive export milestone as Suzuki has officially launched the Pakistan-made Alto and Every in Brunei, giving locally manufactured vehicles a new presence in the Southeast Asian market.

The two compact vehicles are produced by Pak Suzuki Motor Company and are being introduced in Brunei through Boustead Sdn. Bhd., Suzuki’s long-standing local distributor. The launch was announced on August 27, 2026, during an event at Airport Mall Atrium in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The development is particularly significant because Suzuki says this is the first time it has exported vehicles from an overseas production facility with the same body size and engine displacement specifications as Japan’s mini-vehicles. Both the Alto and Every use a 660cc engine and compact dimensions associated with Suzuki’s kei-car segment.

The launch also highlights the growing role of Pakistan’s automobile manufacturing industry in Suzuki’s international production network. Pak Suzuki has been producing the Alto in Pakistan since 2019, while the Every was introduced locally in 2024.

Brunei is considered an attractive market for compact vehicles because of its high vehicle ownership rate per capita, with cars widely used for commuting, education and everyday transportation.

Around 120 guests attended the launch ceremony, including Japan’s Ambassador to Brunei Yutaka Kikuta, Suzuki executives, Boustead representatives and business partners.

The milestone could strengthen Pakistan’s position as an automotive export base, while creating opportunities for locally manufactured vehicles to reach more international markets.
