FORMER PUB IN LONDON TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO ISLAMIC COMMUNITY CENTRE

by Hameed

An Islamic education charity has been granted permission to convert a former pub in East London into a community center. The Quwwat-Ul-Islam Society plans to transform the ground floor and basement of The Hudson Bay on Upton Lane in Forest Gate.

The charity’s vision includes offering a range of services aimed at benefiting the local community. These will feature social clubs for the elderly, fitness classes, youth clubs, and sessions for parents and toddlers. In addition to these activities, the center will provide IT skills training and vocational courses to help residents develop valuable skills.

This initiative reflects the charity’s commitment to fostering community engagement and support among local residents. By creating a welcoming space for various activities, the Quwwat-Ul-Islam Society hopes to enhance social cohesion and promote a sense of belonging for everyone in the area. The project is expected to play a significant role in improving the quality of life for residents and encouraging participation in community-driven initiatives.
