In a major operation near Gwadar, the Pakistan Coast Guards and Pakistan Navy recovered a large quantity of narcotics worth approximately 42.2 billion rupees (around 110 million dollars). The seizure is considered one of the largest drug hauls in the region in recent years.

Authorities said the operation was based on precise intelligence and targeted the mountainous areas of Jiwani, a known route for drug smuggling to international markets. During the raid, security forces recovered 1,050 kilograms of hashish and 200 kilograms of methamphetamine. The drugs were reportedly intended for smuggling overseas using sea routes.

Officials highlighted that the joint operation reflects improved coordination between maritime security agencies and intelligence units. They said continuous surveillance and monitoring of key coastal areas are crucial to intercepting illegal trafficking.

The seizure also emphasizes the growing threat of drug smuggling in Pakistan’s coastal regions, which can fund organized crime and extremist activities. Analysts say operations like this not only disrupt smuggling networks but also send a strong message to criminal groups about the vigilance of security forces.

Authorities have initiated investigations to trace the origin of the consignment and identify the individuals and groups responsible for the smuggling attempt.

Security forces confirmed that measures will be strengthened to prevent future attempts along vulnerable sea and land routes near Gwadar.
