Google Offers Free Courses Worth $400-$1000 for Pakistani Students

by Mahnoor Arif

The Punjab government has announced a major initiative in collaboration with Google to provide free online certification courses to students across the province.

Under this programme, more than 100,000 students will get access to high-quality Google certification courses worth between $400 and $1,000 each. These courses cover important modern fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Digital Marketing.

The initiative aims to equip young Pakistanis with in-demand digital skills that can help them find better job opportunities both locally and internationally. The courses will be completely free for selected students.

This is part of a larger education reform package announced by the Punjab government. Other important steps include:

  • Setting up new IT labs in government colleges
  • Expanding scholarship programmes
  • Introducing electric buses for students
  • Continuing the laptop scheme
  • Improving performance monitoring systems
  • Creating new university affiliations for commerce colleges

These reforms are designed to modernize education in Punjab and bring it closer to international standards. Officials believe that combining traditional education with practical digital skills will greatly improve students’ future prospects.

The Google certification programme is expected to begin soon, with the first batch of students being enrolled in the coming weeks. Students from both urban and rural areas of Punjab will benefit from this opportunity.

This partnership with Google is being seen as a positive step towards preparing Pakistani youth for the digital economy of the future
