Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui has sparked a debate after he was seen riding an electric bike without a helmet or motorcycle driving licence. The mayor rode the e-bike from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office to the Sindh Assembly for an official meeting on May 7, 2026.
During the journey, Murtaza Wahab followed traffic signals and later told the media that the ride was smooth and convenient. He admitted that he currently holds only a car driving licence and plans to get a separate motorcycle licence soon. He was not wearing a helmet during the ride.
