NAB Seizes Four Bahria Town Properties in Karachi, Including Bahria Icon Tower

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has frozen four more high-value properties linked to Bahria Town. An accountability court issued the attachment orders under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2010.

The attached properties include the prominent Bahria Icon Tower in Clifton and the Bahria Town Tower on Tariq Road. Investigations revealed that around Rs 8 billion in suspected crime proceeds were laundered for the construction of the Bahria Icon Tower. The property was reportedly held under a front company, M/s Galaxy Construction Pvt Ltd.

The Bahria Town Tower on Tariq Road was attached after it was found to be held in the name of a “benami” frontman for Malik Riaz Hussain and Bahria Town. NAB is also examining large land holdings in Sheikhupura and Peshawar connected to affiliated companies.

This action is part of an ongoing inquiry into alleged financial irregularities and money laundering. NAB officials say the properties are being reviewed in relation to ownership and funding sources. Legal proceedings are continuing, and further actions may be taken after document verification.

The development has drawn significant attention as Bahria Town is one of Pakistan’s largest real estate developers. The case highlights NAB’s continued focus on high-profile accountability matters in the real estate sector.
