Motorway Police have announced a complete ban on vehicles carrying sacrificial animals from entering motorways across Pakistan ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. The restriction has been imposed to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow during the busy festive period.
According to officials, animal-carrying trucks, pickups, and other overloaded vehicles will not be allowed on any motorway in the country. This decision aims to prevent road accidents, reduce traffic congestion, and maintain better driving conditions for general commuters.
Motorways are high-speed roads where slow-moving or overloaded animal transport vehicles can cause serious dangers. In previous years, several accidents occurred due to animals escaping or vehicles breaking down on motorways. The ban is expected to minimize such risks this year.
Authorities have advised citizens to use alternative national highways and provincial roads for transporting animals to Eid markets. Strict checking points have been set up at all motorway entry points. Violators may face heavy fines and legal action.
The Motorway Police has appealed to the public to cooperate with the authorities and follow the instructions for everyone’s safety. This temporary restriction will remain in place during the peak days of Eid preparations.
