Toyota has unveiled its most powerful GRMN Corolla yet. This track-focused hot hatch will go on sale in 2027 in limited numbers in markets like Japan, North America, and Australia.
The GRMN Corolla was developed and tested on Germany’s tough Nürburgring circuit. It uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that makes 300 horsepower and 415 Nm of torque in Japan-spec models. That is 15 Nm more than the regular GR Corolla, giving stronger acceleration out of corners.
Toyota reduced the car’s weight by 30 kg (66 pounds). It removes the rear seats to make it a two-seater and adds carbon-fiber parts for the hood and other areas. This improves the power-to-weight ratio for better handling.
Other upgrades include wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, upgraded monotube suspension, better cooling systems, and improved GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive software. Special aerodynamic parts like a vented hood, fender ducts, and an adjustable rear wing help the car stick better to the road at high speeds.
Lessons from Toyota’s Super Taikyu racing and hydrogen-powered race cars helped create greater stability and driver control. The GRMN Corolla promises thrilling performance on both roads and tracks. Orders are expected to start in late 2026 via Toyota’s GR app in some countries.
