A major road project in South Punjab is almost finished. The 90-kilometre Multan-Vehari Road, costing Rs25 billion, has reached about 80 percent completion. Officials aim to finish it by June 30, 2026.
The project covers Multan, Vehari, and Khanewal districts. It involves dualisation and construction of a modern, dust-free road. This will greatly improve connectivity with the M-4 motorway and make travel smoother for over 24,000 vehicles daily.
During a recent visit, Commissioner Multan Division Amir Kareem Khan inspected the site. He checked the quality of work at places like Tibba Sultanpur and Garha Morr. Officials were told to keep the work on schedule without reducing quality.
This road project is expected to boost trade, reduce travel time, and support economic growth in the region. It will provide a cleaner and safer journey for people and goods. Once completed, it will be one of Punjab’s first major dust-free roads.
The development shows the Punjab government’s focus on improving infrastructure in South Punjab. Local people and traders are eagerly waiting for the new road, which will bring better transport facilities and new opportunities to the area.
