Pakistan Customs has formally launched a new off-dock terminal at Hawksbay in Karachi. The facility will be operated by International Cargo Terminals Pakistan (ICT), a subsidiary of Denmark-based Scan-Group A/S.
This marks a major step to improve cargo handling, reduce congestion at Karachi Port, and speed up customs clearance. The terminal will help make trade faster and more efficient for businesses.
The project is Scan-Group’s second big investment in Pakistan’s logistics sector. The Danish company already operates at Port Qasim. Together, these investments total more than $30 million. Scan-Group is known for its global operations in shipping, logistics, and related fields across Europe, North America, and Asia.
The notification was shared by Member Customs (Operations) Syed Shakeel Shah at a special ceremony hosted by the Embassy of Denmark in Islamabad. The event celebrated Denmark’s Constitution Day.
Officials say the new terminal will bring modern infrastructure, attract more foreign investment, and strengthen Pakistan’s supply chain. It will support better customs services and help grow the national economy.
This partnership shows growing trust from international investors in Pakistan’s trade sector. It is expected to create jobs and boost Pakistan’s position in regional and global trade.
