Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with Provincial Adviser on Artificial Intelligence Ali Mustafa Dar to discuss the formal launch of the Punjab AI Vision 2029, an initiative aimed at expanding the use of artificial intelligence across the province.
During the meeting, Ali Mustafa Dar briefed the chief minister on the performance of the Punjab AI Office during its first two months. He also provided an update on the world’s first AI-enabled Delivery Unit established in Punjab, highlighting the province’s efforts to introduce technology into government operations.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen Punjab’s artificial intelligence capabilities and use emerging technologies to improve governance and public service delivery. AI-based systems could help government departments to analyze information, improve decision-making and deliver services more efficiently.
The proposed AI Vision 2029 reflects Punjab’s broader efforts to modernize its administrative system and encourage the use of digital technologies in government institutions.
The initiative is also expected to support the development of a stronger technology ecosystem in the province by promoting innovation, digital skills and the practical use of artificial intelligence.
With governments around the world increasingly adopting AI tools, Punjab is seeking to position itself as a leading region in Pakistan for technology-driven governance. The formal launch of Punjab AI Vision 2029 is expected to outline the province’s longer-term plans for integrating AI into different areas of administration and public services.
