Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said Pakistan can learn from Iran’s experience of developing local industries despite facing international sanctions.

Speaking about Iran’s progress, Naqvi highlighted how the country has focused on producing goods domestically instead of depending heavily on imports. He said Iran’s approach shows that strong local manufacturing can help a country continue economic development even under difficult conditions.

Naqvi said Pakistan should also promote the “Made in Pakistan” concept and encourage businesses to manufacture more products locally. According to him, increasing domestic production could help reduce the country’s reliance on imported goods while creating more opportunities for Pakistani businesses and workers.

The minister also stressed the need to increase Pakistan’s exports. He said stronger cooperation between the government and the business community is important for improving the country’s economic performance.

Naqvi pointed to Iran as an example of how domestic industries can continue growing despite external restrictions. He suggested that Pakistan could adopt similar strategies by supporting local manufacturers, encouraging investment and improving the business environment.

His comments come as Pakistan continues efforts to strengthen its economy, increase exports and reduce pressure from imports.

The minister’s remarks underline the importance of promoting locally made products and building stronger industries inside Pakistan. A greater focus on domestic manufacturing, he said, could help Pakistan become more self-reliant and create a stronger foundation for future economic growth.
