Naseem Shah Suspended from PSL for Indefinite Time

by Mahnoor Arif

Fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 indefinitely due to a side strain injury. The young pacer picked up the injury while bowling in Rawalpindi Pindiz’s recent match against Karachi Kings. He felt discomfort under his left ribcage on the very first delivery and had to leave the field immediately.

Rawalpindi Pindiz confirmed the news and said their medical team is closely monitoring Naseem’s recovery. An MRI scan has already been conducted. The team is aiming for a possible return in the final stages of the tournament, but only after he gets full fitness clearance from doctors.

The Pindiz management has expressed full support for the fast bowler during his rehabilitation. They described Naseem as a key member of the squad and assured fans that every possible help would be provided for his quick and safe recovery. Updates on his condition and any chance of a comeback will be shared as the season moves forward.

This is a big blow for Rawalpindi Pindiz, who were counting on Naseem’s express pace in the ongoing PSL. Fans are disappointed but hope the 22-year-old star recovers fully without any long-term issues.

Naseem Shah is one of Pakistan’s most promising fast bowlers. His absence will be felt in the middle overs, where he often breaks partnerships with his speed and swing. The team is now looking at other pacers to fill the gap in the bowling attack.
