Hyderabad Kingsmen Set Target of 130 Runs Against Peshawar Zalmi in PSL Final

by Mahnoor Arif

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 final is underway at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Hyderabad Kingsmen batted first after losing the toss and could only manage 129 runs before being bowled out in 18 overs. Peshawar Zalmi now need 130 runs to win the title.

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to bowl first. Their bowlers performed brilliantly. Aaron Hardie was the star, taking 4 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs. Nahid Rana picked up 2 wickets, while Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Basit took one each. They kept tight control and restricted the Kingsmen.

For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Saim Ayub played a fighting knock of 54 runs off 50 balls. Captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 20, and Maaz Sadaqat made a quick 11. However, the middle order collapsed quickly. Glenn Maxwell, Usman Khan, and others failed to build big partnerships. The team was bowled out with two overs to spare.

This is a crucial final. Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, have been one of the strongest teams this season. Hyderabad Kingsmen, captained by Marnus Labuschagne, reached the final as underdogs after some exciting playoff wins.

The chase looks challenging but possible on this pitch. Zalmi has strong batters like Babar Azam, Mohammad Haris, and Kusal Mendis. If they bat smartly, they can lift their first PSL title in this thrilling final.
