The National Cyber Emergency Response Team in Pakistan issued the alert, asking everyone to act quickly to protect their online accounts.
Reports say that over 180 million people around the world have had their personal data stolen. The hackers targeted popular platforms like Google, Facebook, Instagram, Apple, and even some government websites.
The data was stolen using a type of malware called an “info stealer.” This harmful software secretly collects usernames and passwords and saves them in online databases that are not secure.
Worryingly, the stolen data is now available on public websites. This means people are at high risk of being hacked, having their identity stolen, or falling victim to ransomware attacks. Pakistani users are particularly in danger, as both personal and official accounts could be affected.
Authorities are asking everyone to:
