President Asif Ali Zardari officially launched the Benazir Hunarmand Programme at Aiwan-e-Sadr, with the goal of helping low-income families by offering skill development opportunities. The program focuses on teaching modern and useful skills so young people in Pakistan can find better jobs, both locally and abroad.
During the launch event, President Zardari said that education and training are key to building a better future. He especially highlighted the importance of nursing and other professions that are in high demand around the world. He added that skilled workers are needed to meet the needs of a changing job market.
The President also said that this program continues the mission of his late father-in-law Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his wife, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Their shared dream was to create a Pakistan where every citizen has a chance to succeed, no matter their background. He stressed the importance of equal opportunities and a strong, educated workforce to grow the country’s economy.
The Benazir Hunarmand Programme aims to improve technical and vocational training so more people can learn valuable trades and contribute to national development. It is also designed to support women and the underprivileged so they can improve their living conditions.
President Zardari also praised former Finance Minister Naveed Qamar for playing an important role in launching the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), which helped millions of families.
With this new step, the government hopes to create a more skilled and empowered population that can help Pakistan move forward.
