Only people holding Umrah visas are currently allowed to travel to Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Those with family visit visas or work visas are not permitted to enter the city under the current rules.
Due to this restriction, a recent AirSial flight from Islamabad to Madinah had to leave behind around 60 passengers at the airport. These travelers did not have the correct visa type and were not allowed to board the plane. The incident caused confusion and inconvenience among the affected passengers.
Airport and airline officials explained that Saudi authorities have strict guidelines for entry into the holy city of Madinah. Only pilgrims with valid Umrah visas are allowed to fly there. People with other types of visas need to make separate travel arrangements or visit other cities in Saudi Arabia where their visas are valid.
Authorities are now urging all travelers to double-check their visa type before booking flights to Madinah. Failing to follow these rules can result in missed flights, wasted money, and unnecessary stress at the airport.
Travel agents and airlines are also being asked to clearly inform passengers about visa requirements to avoid such incidents in the future. Ensuring the correct documents are in place is the traveler’s responsibility, and checking in advance can save a lot of trouble.
