Pakistan’s Rice Exports to China Rise 63% to $45.27 Million in Three Months

Pakistan has achieved impressive growth in rice exports to China during the third quarter of 2025. The country earned $45.27 million from selling rice to China, which represents a 63% increase compared to the $27.85 million earned during the same period last year.

These figures come from China’s General Administration of Customs, the official organization that tracks all imports and exports in China. The data shows that Pakistani rice is becoming increasingly popular in the Chinese market.

What’s even more remarkable is the actual amount of rice exported. Pakistan sent 76.36 million kilograms of semi-milled or wholly-milled rice to China during this three-month period. This quantity is more than ten times higher than what was exported last year, showing an extraordinary jump in volume.

There are two main reasons why Chinese buyers are purchasing more Pakistani rice. First, Pakistani rice is known for its high quality, meeting the standards that Chinese consumers expect. Second, Pakistan offers competitive pricing, meaning the rice is reasonably priced compared to other countries’ products.

This success is great news for Pakistan’s agricultural sector and economy. Rice is one of Pakistan’s major crops and an important export product. When rice exports increase, it benefits Pakistani farmers who grow the crop and generates valuable foreign exchange for the country.

The growing demand from China, one of the world’s largest markets, creates opportunities for Pakistani rice producers to expand their business further. It also strengthens economic ties between Pakistan and China, two countries that already share close diplomatic and trade relationships.
