Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has thanked Pakistan for its mediation efforts to end the ongoing war with the United States and Israel. In a post on X, he said Iran is “deeply grateful” to Pakistan and strongly rejected reports that Tehran refused peace talks in Islamabad.

Araghchi wrote that Iran has “never refused to go to Islamabad.” He accused some US media of misrepresenting Iran’s position. He stressed that Iran wants a “conclusive and lasting end” to what he called the “illegal war” imposed on his country, not just temporary pauses. He ended his message with the words “Pakistan Zindabad” in Urdu.

Pakistan recently hosted regional talks in Islamabad with foreign ministers from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt to discuss ways to ease tensions. Although no breakthrough was achieved, Islamabad continues to offer itself as a neutral venue for dialogue between Iran and the US.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed Araghchi’s clarification and thanked him for the positive message.

Araghchi also warned about possible nuclear risks after reported strikes near Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant. He said such attacks could lead to serious dangers for the region.

Pakistan has dismissed speculative reports and reiterated its strong commitment to promoting peace talks. Officials in Islamabad said they will keep working quietly to bring both sides to the table for meaningful negotiations. Many see Pakistan’s role as an important bridge in the current crisis.
