The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has officially announced that the Zilhajj moon was sighted on Sunday evening, May 17, 2026. As a result, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated across Pakistan on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, confirmed the moon sighting after reports were received from different parts of the country, especially coastal areas. The announcement was made late on Sunday night, bringing joy to millions of Muslims across the country.

With only 10 days left for Eid, markets and animal mandis are expected to become extremely busy. The government has announced public holidays from May 27 to May 29.

Security arrangements have been tightened at major markets and mandis to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid. Local administrations are also working to improve cleanliness and traffic management during the festive days.

People across Pakistan are now busy making preparations for the festival. Many have already started shopping for new clothes, sweets, and sacrificial animals. The announcement has created a festive atmosphere throughout Pakistan.

Eid-ul-Adha reminds us of the values of sacrifice, sharing, and helping those in need.
