A remarkably tiny 19th-century Quran, measuring only 26 millimetres in height, has gone on sale in Abu Dhabi with an asking price of around Rs1.03 million.

The miniature Quran has attracted attention because of its exceptionally small size and historical significance. Despite its tiny dimensions, the religious manuscript contains the complete Quran in miniature form.

The rare item is being offered to collectors in Abu Dhabi, where interest in historic Islamic manuscripts and miniature artworks remains strong. Its sale highlights the continuing value placed on rare religious and cultural artefacts.

Miniature Qurans have historically been produced in different parts of the Islamic world, with some designed to be carried as personal devotional objects. Creating readable religious text on such a small scale required highly skilled calligraphy and careful manuscript production.

The 26mm Quran is believed to date back to the 19th century, making it more than a century old. Its combination of age, extremely compact dimensions and religious importance makes it an unusual collectible.

The reported price of approximately Rs1.03 million reflects the interest surrounding rare historical manuscripts. The final selling price could vary depending on the auction or sale conditions.

The item offers a glimpse into the history of miniature Islamic manuscripts and demonstrates how calligraphers and craftsmen created highly detailed religious works on an exceptionally small scale.
