Singapore Airlines has been named the World’s Best Airline for 2026 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, reclaiming the prestigious title for the sixth time.
The award was announced during a ceremony in London on September 18, with Singapore Airlines taking the top position ahead of Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways. Qatar Airways, which won the title last year, ranked second, while Cathay Pacific secured third place.
The 2026 ranking was based on a global passenger satisfaction survey conducted by Skytrax between September 2025 and August 2026. The survey included travellers from more than 100 nationalities and covered more than 300 airlines worldwide.
Singapore Airlines also received several other major awards, including World’s Best Economy Class and World’s Best Economy Class Onboard Catering. It was also recognised as the Best Airline in Asia, further highlighting its performance across different service categories.
All Nippon Airways ranked fourth globally, followed by Turkish Airlines in fifth place. Emirates secured sixth position, while Air France, Hainan Airlines, Japan Airlines and Korean Air completed the top 10.
Skytrax described the World Airline Awards as passenger-choice awards, with the results determined through customer voting rather than airline sponsorship or entry fees.
Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong thanked passengers for their trust and support, saying the recognition reflects the dedication and professionalism of the airline’s employees.
The latest achievement strengthens Singapore Airlines’ position among the world’s leading carriers and marks another significant milestone in its global aviation history.
