Travel between Lahore and Islamabad is set to become faster with the newM-13 Motorway.
Once completed, the project is expected to cut the travel time by around one hour and shorten the distance by nearly 100 kilometres.
The M-13, also known as the Kharian–Rawalpindi Motorway, will connect Kharian with Rawalpindi and form part of a new motorway route linking Lahore, Sialkot, and Islamabad.
The six-lane motorway will include modern interchanges and service facilities to improve road safety and traffic flow.
Officials say the new route will ease congestion on the M-2 Motorway while helping drivers save time and fuel.
It is also expected to improve the movement of goods, making travel easier for businesses and commuters.
The motorway is part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its road network and improve connectivity between major cities.
Once operational, it is expected to provide a faster and more convenient travel option for people travelling between Lahore and Islamabad.
