Internet users across Pakistan have reported slower-than-usual speeds after a cable-related issue affected network connectivity in several parts of the country.
According to internet service providers, the disruption was linked to a fault in an international communication cable, which reduced available network capacity and caused slower browsing, buffering and delays in accessing online services. While internet services remained available for most users, many experienced noticeable performance issues.
The slowdown affected a wide range of online activities, including video streaming, social media, online gaming and virtual meetings. Businesses, students and remote workers also reported difficulties due to the reduced internet speeds.
Service providers said technical teams are working to resolve the issue and restore normal connectivity as quickly as possible. They added that repairs to undersea communication cables can take time, depending on the location and extent of the damage.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has acknowledged the disruption and said it is closely monitoring the situation. Users have been advised that internet performance is expected to improve once the cable fault is repaired.
Officials urged customers to remain patient while restoration work continues, assuring that updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
