The Pakistan Cricket Board has approved a Rs 6.7 billion plan to upgrade cricket stadiums across the country.

The decision came in the 84th Board of Governors meeting in Lahore, chaired by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Members passed a surplus 2026-27 budget that sets aside Rs 6.7 billion for infrastructure work.

The National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi will get major upgrades, along with other venues nationwide. Planned improvements include seating, floodlights, drainage, and player facilities to meet international standards.

A state-of-the-art biomechanics machine will also be installed at the High Performance Centre in Lahore for training and injury prevention.

PCB also boosted the domestic cricket budget by Rs 1 billion, taking it from Rs 3 billion to Rs 4 billion. That funding will operationalize 12 additional grounds and cover staffing and maintenance. Ground staff got a raise, with the minimum monthly salary increased to Rs 42,000.

Women’s cricket received dedicated support too, with funds approved for new One-Day and T20 tournaments.

The board granted the PSL full administrative and financial autonomy and cleared a new central contracts framework with higher match fees for national players.

With billions now committed, PCB says the goal is better venues for players, improved pay for staff, and a world-class experience for fans.
