Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced an extensive support package for students, aiming to empower the youth and promote education. The package includes 50,000 scholarships that will be awarded purely on merit, 100,000 free electric bikes for students, and interest-free loans to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
During the announcement, Maryam Nawaz assured that the scholarships would be distributed strictly on the basis of merit, without any political favoritism or influence. She also shared plans to expand this scholarship program in the future, allowing more students to benefit from it and even providing opportunities for international education.
Another major highlight of the package is the introduction of a loan scheme designed to support student-led startups. Under this scheme, students can access loans of up to Rs 30 million, enabling them to turn their innovative ideas into reality.
The free electric bike initiative has been introduced with a dual purpose. It aims to make transportation easier for students while also contributing to a cleaner environment by reducing pollution.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of preparing the youth for the future by focusing on modern fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and entrepreneurship. These initiatives, she said, are intended to equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
This comprehensive package reflects the government’s commitment to empowering students and fostering a brighter future for the youth of Punjab.
