President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the prestigious Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on General Aamer Raza, Commander of the National Strategic Command, during an investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-i-Sadr in Islamabad.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, services chiefs, as well as senior government and military officials.
General Aamer Raza was promoted to the rank of four-star general in July and subsequently appointed as the first Commander of the National Strategic Command. His appointment marked an important development in Pakistan’s military command structure.
The Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) is among Pakistan’s highest military awards and is presented in recognition of distinguished service and exceptional contributions to the country.
General Raza has previously been recognized for his services, having received the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Basalat.
The investiture ceremony brought together senior civilian and military leadership, reflecting the significance of the national honour awarded to General Raza. His elevation to four-star rank and appointment to lead the newly established strategic command have further highlighted his career and responsibilities within Pakistan’s armed forces.
The presentation of the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) adds another major distinction to General Raza’s record of service and recognition.
