Waves Home Appliances Limited has made a strong return to the air conditioner market in Pakistan. The company announced the restart of its AC assembly operations after a temporary suspension that began in 2022 due to strict import restrictions and tough economic conditions.
In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, Waves said it has revived its strategic partnership with a leading Chinese supplier. The first shipment of 5,000 CKD (completely knocked down) air conditioner kits has already arrived. This will allow the company to produce both T3 (for hot weather) and T1 models according to customer demand.
The move marks the end of a four-year break from AC production. Waves plans to resume nationwide commercial sales immediately. Company officials believe this restart will help increase revenue and improve overall profitability. It is also expected to support the revival of other product lines such as washing machines, microwave ovens, and water dispensers.
Pakistan’s home appliances sector is recovering after difficult years. The AC market alone is worth nearly Rs190 billion and is growing fast. Waves’ decision to use local assembly through CKD kits gives better control over costs and helps avoid past import problems.
This positive step brings hope for more jobs and better availability of quality cooling products for Pakistani families during the hot summer season.
