Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has shared a glimpse of Sheikhupura’s ongoing transformation, highlighting major improvements in roads, public spaces, and urban infrastructure.
Posting on social media, she remarked, “Who would’ve thought Sheikhupura could look like this?”, while showcasing before-and-after visuals of the city’s makeover.
According to the chief minister, the development work is part of the Punjab government’s broader effort to modernize cities and improve public facilities.
The projects include road rehabilitation, better street lighting, beautification, cleanliness drives, and upgrades to parks and other public areas.
Maryam Nawaz said the goal is to provide residents with cleaner, safer, and more attractive surroundings while improving the overall quality of life. She added that similar development initiatives are being carried out in other cities across Punjab.
The shared images received mixed reactions online. Many users appreciated the visible improvements and welcomed the government’s focus on urban development, while others called for continued attention to healthcare, education, and employment alongside infrastructure projects.
The Punjab government says development work in Sheikhupura will continue, with additional projects planned to further improve civic services and public amenities.
