Lahore High Court Launches First Digital Judicial Infrastructure System in Pakistan

by Mahnoor Arif

Punjab’s judicial system has taken a big step into the digital age. The Lahore High Court has launched the Punjab Judicial Infrastructure Management System (JIMS), the first system of its kind in Pakistan’s judiciary. This new digital platform aims to modernise court facilities and improve access to justice across the province.

Chief Justice Aalia Neelum inaugurated the system recently. JIMS provides complete digital information about judicial complexes, court buildings, residential facilities for judges, and ongoing construction projects in all tehsils of Punjab. It allows real-time monitoring through a central dashboard, helping officials plan better and use resources more efficiently.

The platform will reduce paperwork, save time, and increase transparency. Lawyers, litigants, and the public can now get important details online without frequent physical visits. This is part of a larger push towards e-governance in Punjab’s courts. Other digital tools for financial management and accounts have also been introduced to prevent fraud and speed up processes.

Officials believe this move will make justice delivery faster and fairer. It supports better infrastructure planning and helps reduce delays that people often face in courts.

This digital transformation shows Punjab’s commitment to modern public services. Experts hope it will set an example for other provinces and bring long-term improvements in the judicial system.
