Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in Islamabad leads the country by securing the joint 381st position globally. It also stands out for research, ranking among the world’s top 60 for citations per faculty with an impressive score of 97.2. Close behind is the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) at 384th place. The Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) follows at joint 560th.
Other well-known Pakistani universities in the list include Punjab University, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), COMSATS, Aga Khan University, and University of Karachi.
The QS rankings judge universities on several important factors. These include academic reputation, research impact, graduate employability, international outlook, and efforts towards sustainability. MIT in the United States kept its number one spot for the 15th year in a row.
