Fitbit Air Launched by Google at Half the Cost of Whoop

by Mahnoor Arif

Google has introduced a new affordable fitness tracker called Fitbit Air. Priced at just $100, this screenless fitness band is designed to compete with premium devices like Whoop, offering advanced health tracking at almost half the price.

The Fitbit Air is a lightweight, comfortable soft band that uses built-in sensors and haptics instead of a display. It tracks important health data including steps, sleep quality, heart rate, blood oxygen levels (SpO2), and heart rate variability. Users receive feedback through vibrations and the companion mobile app.

The device works with a new Google Health app available on both Android and iOS. The app allows users to log meals, view detailed health reports, and get personalised insights. Users can also subscribe to Google Health coaching services for advanced guidance and fitness plans.

The Fitbit Air offers up to one week of battery life on a single charge. It comes in several attractive colours to suit different styles. The device will officially launch on May 26, 2026, while the coaching features will become available from May 19.

With this launch, Google aims to make serious health tracking more accessible to everyday users who want simple, effective fitness monitoring without spending hundreds of dollars on expensive wearables.
