Pakistan’s new private airline, South Air, has announced a 50% discount on airfares for passengers with disabilities, aiming to make air travel more affordable and accessible.
The airline said the concession will be available on its domestic flights for eligible passengers who provide the required disability documentation at the time of booking or check-in. The initiative is part of South Air’s commitment to promoting inclusive and accessible travel services.
Company officials said the discount is intended to reduce travel costs for people with disabilities and ensure they can travel more comfortably. The airline also plans to provide assistance during boarding and other airport procedures for passengers who require additional support.
The announcement comes ahead of South Air’s launch of commercial operations, with flights scheduled to begin on July 9. The airline will initially operate routes connecting Karachi, Gwadar and Quetta, expanding domestic travel options in Pakistan.
Aviation experts have welcomed the decision, saying such initiatives encourage greater accessibility and set a positive example for the country’s aviation industry. They believe similar policies by other airlines could help make air travel more inclusive for all passengers.
South Air said more details about the discount policy, eligibility requirements and booking process will be available through its official website and customer service channels.
